Dear Friends,
Last week, Maria’s mother asked us to help her daughter.
The little girl talks excitedly about starting “kin-a-gaw-nen” next fall, but she difficulties to do five-year-old things–like speaking in sentences, climbing monkey bars, or using her box of crayons.
For 29 summers Therapy and Fun has helped over 700 children like Maria walk, talk, learn and play so they can read and write.
But unfortunately I had to tell Maria’s mother “No.” You see, we have already admitted so many low-income children that the Brian Buffington Scholarship Fund is nearly empty.
Like so many of our families, Maria’s parents struggle to pay a mountain of bills from Maria’s premature birth and long hospital stay. Her special needs also keep her mother from working, while her father’s carpentry business barely pays the bills.
Maria’s parents are willing to pay what they can, but they need our help. We need your help. A gift to our scholarship fund of any size will make a world of difference to small girl this summer.
Please hurry! Contributions we receive by June 1 will mean Maria will be able to start Therapy and Fun with other children on June 19.
When you send a gift, I will send you news about Maria’s progress this summer. (I know you will want to know how she does.)
Maria’s family is waiting for my call. I hope I will have good news to tell them.
Sincerely,
Jean Silbar
